Is HORRIBLE. I just purchased yesterday and listened to it on my way to school, I would have to say this is without a doubt the worst stuff that metallica ever did. 'Cause of the off-pitch singing of hetfield, and the rattling drums from lars, I can't believe I wasted 15 fucking bucks for this piece of shit. And the rehearsal DVD that comes along with the CD sucks MAJOR BALLS.

Who thinks so?

hey, welcome to 2003

To say that Metallica has turned to shit, is very insulting to shit.
By the way, were in in a coma for like 3 years???

Who cares if it came out 3 years ago? All I was saying was that St.Anger is the worst music I've ever heard of. And I thought this was a heavy metal forum where we can talk about anything metal music related.

Cool Cool....
just kidding man.
And yeah, yer right.... St. Anger is pretty lame.

I like about half of St. Anger. I can't listen to all 80 mins at once. It gets boring and repeats itself too much. The deliberate attempt at bad production is bit silly. It sounds like they have tried to hide the fact that songs have been pro-tooled to death with bad production.

Give it a few listens. It is my least favorite Metallica album, but all in all it's not total crap. The first couple of times I listened to it I hated it too, but the more and more I spun it I ended up liking it a little more each time. Still not the best but decent.

I agree 100%. I haven't listened to it in a long time but I do think there's some promising material there. It's just haphazardly arranged. I like Purify a lot, All in my Hands, Unnamed Feeling, Sweet Amber, Shoot me Again, My World. I do agree that it's the worst stuff they've put out.

 Personally The Black album was the last Metallica album I liked at all. Obviously, they'll never scale the musical heights that they did on ...And Justice For All, (Metallica's best album imo) ever again. In general it's very hard for the majority of bands to sustain that kind of quality over a long time without rehashing ideas. Not that that was Metallica's problem.

Man, learn from other people's mistakes. It's like not eating at a restaurant where a whole bunch of people got food poisoning.

as a die hard metallica fan, I like it...but its the last CD I pick up to listen to. I will listen to my shit tape quality rendition of No Life Till leather before st. Anger. Good songs, and they have potential if just a LITTLE more thought went into them, but they wanted to reflect how they were at that moment. And they did a good job putting a soundtrack to the word "fucked."

...and justice for all is metallica's most techinical/pogressive record. to me it comes really close to being my favorite metallica record but ride the lightning would be my favorite tallica record
