I just checked these in at my job last Wednesday (I do warehouse receiving). They were going to be for around $47 and I really think that it'll be worth it. You get a ton of bonus shit, not to mention having those three classics remastered and polished up. It comes out Tuesday and it seems like a good way to blow some cash, being as how there has been a lot of boring crap musically coming out lately. Are you guys going to pick one up?

When I was a kid.....But once I hit 13 yo and they introduced fighting teddybears,to the series.....they lost me
But for people of that time (Myself Included) that series of movies was the best!!!!!!

I probally won't buy it, but then again, I might. I'm not a huge fan of the films. I think Empire is the best.

The old SW are classic...the episode one alright...but episode two sucked manatee balls IMHO...made me almost want my money back in the cinema.

Is this release the original films just remastered or those crappy "special" ones that were released in the theateres some years back, with better FX and that mini jabba dude in new hope.

re- edited- re effected and RE-Tarded.
I have the original 3 verisons on dvd from Malaysia.
they are the original versions on wide screen.
Get those

They are actually quite good. (Besides Return of the Jedi which always sucked), the picture quality, and sound kick ass. The picture is like they filmed it yesterday. And the sound....holy fuck when the star destroy rumbled across the screen at the beginning, I thought I would have to buy new windows for my house.

I have the original 3 copied off of LaserDisc onto DVD and those, well they suck, the 5.1 sound mix is terrible and picture quality that is stuck in the 80s.

I am watching mine on my Pioneer PRO-730HDi TV and listening to it through my brand spanking new Denon THX amp. The originals will always be better (sentimnetal value), but the new ones kick ass. Maybe you just need a decent system to enjoy them. These DVDs are actually the turning point in home theater enjoyment.

PS. $115,000,000 day one sales for the Star Wars DVD.
