Starved for new metal. Help.

So uh, yea, I'm completely dumbfounded as to how after 20 posts, no one suggests Enslaved to a fan of Agalloch, Amon Amarth, and Opeth

Opeth
metal that flowsQUOTE]

Huh.

Anyhow. Try Odin's Court - Deathanity for very soothing, smooth progressive metal.
Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters and Emperor's In The Nightside Eclipse are excellent black metal with a lot of atmosphere and very natural flow. They're also extremely evokative.
If you like newer Amon Amarth try some Kataklysm.
Also, Draconian, definitely.

Bathory - Hammerheart, though it may be 'choppy'
Ensiferum - Ensiferum
Bal-Sagoth
Borknagar
Empyrium
Hammers of Misfortune - The Bastard
Insomnium
Primodrial

Would your aversion to "80's wailing style" extend to operatic female vocalists fronting gothic/progressive metal? If not, A New Dawn are worth checking out.

Otherwise, perhaps Korpiklaani, Finnish folk metal, may fit the bill

Or Australian prog metal band Vanishing Point
