hey, I'm currently recording an R&B song for a couple of guys I know. Both singers are very talented, but one uses alot of vibrato, and hasn't practiced singing much with out it. So we have some parts that need to be steady, and despite going over it with him 10-15 times, he still can't control the vibrato.

Does anybody know if you can use Auto-tune to steady the vocals so that it sounds like he's just singing one pitch?

Thanks.

i hate vibrato singers - like its a nice technique but its a bad technique that so many singers use to try make themselves seem like a better vocalist then they actually are... and believe me its dam hard to train the monkeys to control the technique. we spent days in college on this 1 chick who just couldn't hold a steady note without vibrating the thing.

eventually she couldn't get it so she quit college

in autotune, instead of using pitch curve, 'staright line' the notes.
so draw a straight line over the pitch curve, and that should bring it under control.
i havent used autotune since version 3.... but i think thats still right!
