Vocals is where I think my mixing skills are the most limited. I'm trying to get those vocals to fit in my mix (I'm doing an album for a thrash band).

This is a sample of the mix with everything including the vocals.

I used an SM7 into Vintech pre for vocals, with the following treatment :

Metric Halo Channelstrip highpass @ 200 Hz. 2.2 db boost @ 1 khz.
Then I send this to a stereo bus where it gets compressed through Waves CLA76. I used a Rdeesser too and the Waves Doubler plugin. I have a parallel FX channel with delay (Waves H-Delay) and verb (ArtsAcoustic medium plate)
I think it may sound a bit too processed/too compressed, it's a PITA lol.
Please tell me what you think, advices etc.
(NB : this is the mix, no mastering involved so everything is a bit dark, guitar tone is a bit dark for thrash but the album has also slow stuff so I think it's a good compromise, at least they like it).

Vox need some presence. I would work on the drums first, though. Need more ballz, methinks.

Thanks, what do you mean ? I tried to add a few low mids to the drums and it sounds a better.
Added some 9,5 khz on guitars for the edge too and it sounds better again.
Now vocals, maybe they are a bit too loud too.
