Now that I'm (slowly) building up a vinyl collection, I have no idea where the F to put em'. They're presently laying atop the bottom of a carboy :erk:Where do you lovely gents keep ya'lls?

I have them on a shelf. I know that a lot of people just store them in crates on the floor...

i store mine standing up on the floor, with 7"'s standing up on a dresser. supposedly if you have a huge stack laid flat it's bad for the ones on the bottom, but the records that were in the garage for years beg to differ. just keep them away from liquids and mold and you should be fine.

Storing them horizontally dramatically increases cover wear and can compress the grooves of the vinyl.

I keep mine standing in a wooden box from IKEA. I can't remembert what it's called but it's pretty big, made of wood, has metal "clamps" to strengthen the corners and it's seems pretty much made to store vinyls in.

On a side note, I also keep the records in plastic sleeves and the vinyls themselves in anti-static fake-Naganoka sleeves :loco:

Looks like I should pick em' up off the carboy then aye?!

I don't have anything that's empty box like so I'll have to go out and buy something or track down a milk crate. Cheers

Aha, cool.

Btw, once you get one, I would also recommend painting it in some nice color -- how about blaring red?

Yeah I listened to that one both today and yesterday. Not that I've heard much doom (or funeral doom for that matter), but The Monad of Creation is some of the very best doom that I've come across so far

When I was 5 years old I left all my vinyl out on the porch. When I finally remembered they were out there they had become circular sine waves. It was rad.

My vinyl collection currently sits next to the fireplace. Apparently I have learned little since the days of owning Puttin' on the Ritz and John Cougar Mellonhead on curvy wax.
