i prefer straight necks because the strings are closer to the body
and my hand has more contact to the body. it feels more comfortable.

with an angled neck the strings are further away from the body,
even my hand rests on the strings i kinda miss the contact to the
body which results in less "control"

i guess the fact that i am a lousy guitar plays a big role too :p

what do you think?

Wait you mean the headstock or the actual neck? I've played on both types and I have to say I prefer the angled headstock of Ibanez's the most. With a lock trem the strings are pretty level with the fretboard. Unless I'm missing the point. :lol:

EDIT: Or did you mean the radius of the neck? Flatter has always been my preference.

I believe he's actually referring to neck angle, which actually has to do with the type of bridge and its placement more than anything else. For example, a standard installation of a tune-o-matic requires a steeper neck angle than a sunken floyd rose, and in turn, it causes the strings to be farther away from the body. At least, I think that's what he's trying to say.

@Terminus
i also prefer angled headstocks but i was talking about the neck itself and how it's jointed to the body :)

@Code001
exactly! :)

Angle neck... i like when the distance between the strings and the neck keeps (almost) constant in the hole neck. Best for shreding
