Stratovarius MANIAC DANCE video online!

It's an ok video. Nothing earth shattering or innovative. I'd rather see more of the guys in the band them some mental chick panting on a bed or submerged in a tub, but I'm sure that's a gender perspective.;)

As for the song, it's actually growing on me. I like Kotipelto singing deeper and edgier. I know there's a lot of complaints about Strato's new sound, but what I've heard so far is a refreshing change for me. I hate when bands just keep repeating themselves. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the cd.

Yeah, I'm one of those who didn't download the album - so I still haven't heard it.

I, for one, like the new sound. I'm glad they didn't make the same album with the same formula again. It's got a raw sound, and it sounds fresh. Whether or not you like the direction, you have to admit its something fresh for the Strato camp.

It's not speedy metal, and it could be considered more hard rock. I still find myself headbanging during the verse, so I don't care what the label is. The chorus of the song isn't my favorite, but it excites me to see the direction on the new album.

The video itself though - nothing earth shattering. I don't know what it is with Fin's and chicks in the videos - *look at Nightwish's Nemo*, so it just seems like a typical metal video

This band is in trouble...BIG trouble. That guitar riff is beyond annoying. There is no melody in the chorus. There IS a chunky riff through the verse but that can't save this song. I'm a fan, but things are bleak my friends.....

this is tough...Im not big on the big happy, typical power metal double bass during the the whole song thing, so I was happy to hear them doing something a little out of their comfort zone. But Im not totally impressed with the song either. I like the vocals for the most part, meaning I like his voice...but maybe this kind of song will go over much better and more powerful in a live setting, no? I guess we will get our chance in less than a couple months! Im looking forward to meeting these guys and seeing what they are capable of.

And on a side note, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a mental babe in a video. If the song sucks, at least there is a justification to finish watching it! ;)

Okay, is all i can say. The video doesn't do anything, and the sound well it will have to really grow on me. I think and this is just my opinion, it's mainstream, like they want to be played on the radio 20 or 30 times a day. i Hope i am way way wrong. We will have to wait and see.

I must be in the minority, because I love the song AND the video. The chorus is a little repetitive, and I don't think Timo's accent goes too well with the vocal style, but overall I think this is a good and welcome change to the Stratovarius formula. And, it's almost impossible not to impress me with a video containing a hot, mostly-naked girl. :)

are they trying to make some quasipolitical statement with images of terrorism?

Hmmmm I don't think so, now if it was a PoS vid........

I DID dl the mp3s when they "came out" and I like the vid, the tune, as well as the hot Finnish chick, mental problems or not..... :D

This wouldn't have been a blind buy for me, but after hearing it, I'll be picking this up as soon as I see it. Another case of an early preview MAKING a sale...

Well.....if they stick with the fan-picked setlist, you won't hear anything from the new album......I'm not even sure if it was announced when they made the poll. But I can't imagine them going on the US tour and not doing things from the new album, so I imagine they'll change it from the poll somewhat.

On the video:

Oh.....my......did that one generic riff really last for four minutes? From what I had heard from the rest, it sounded like really generic power stuff, but this is more like generic pop stuff. Sorry.

And I really loved some of the "progressive" elements on 'Elements Pt. 1.' "Fantasia" is one of my favorite Stratovarius songs at this point, although I haven't really listened to their "classic" material that I bought yet. But this is just sounding uninspired to me. I'll have to listen some more though.

Oh....and to J-Dubya :D, Pain Of Salvation have a total of one music video, and it has nothing to do with modern politics. I don't think there's a whole lot of really....political (by which you mean obnoxious left-wing stuff) in their music, just the fact that Daniel talks about it in interviews. On the other hand, have you heard "Find Your Own Voice?" :D Sorry.......>_>

i actually like this more than previous stratovarius stuff. for some reason i never liked anything they ever put out except for maybe a couple songs, but this one i can at least tolerate a bit

actually now i'm halfway through it. and its really repetitive. but still listenable?

eh, video is ok at best. I agree they should have shown more of the band. I like the song for the most part, but that chorus is just freakin lame. C'mon, the best title you could come up with is "maniac dance"?? And they pulled the 80's cliche of singing the chorus like 200 times too many in a row at the end of the song.

I'll take ANY cheap shot at PoS that I can. I hope Danny-boy is pre lubed
the next time he visits this country, and I hope the person "searching" him is
Ted Nugent! LOL :D

Wow; it is sad for me to hear and see 1 of my favorite bands put out such an atrocious piece of garbage. I waited 10 years to see these guys, and right when I finally have the opportunity, it appears as if they will release their worst album in the history of the band. I literally had to shut it off after 1 minute, and yes, I much rather Elements Part 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, etc.. over that. I love Stratovarius for their style (melodic speed metal)- they have made a damn good living off of it; no need to start experimenting now. Stick to your roots which I hope they will do in September. Very dissapointing....
