West Burbs of Chicago
Hey,
Sorry to post a non-ND related thread, though I know there are a lot of folks here from the Chicago-land area.

I have a ticket for the Stratovarius gig at the House of Blues in Chicago on Wednesday September 28, that I need to sell. Unfortunately, I am not able to make it.

If anyone is interested, please let me know, and we can work something out.
I am willing to sell it for under face value.
(which is quite a discount, considering all the BS Ticket-Bastard fees you will be saving!)

Thanks.

I'll be seeing them this weekend at ProgPower in Atlanta. I'm really not familiar with Stratovarius at all, can anyone recommend some songs I should listen to before I go?

The VISIONS album is easily their strongest album, in my opinion.
If you are new to Strato, check out "Forever Free"
It was the song that got me into them.

Their latest efforts (Elements Pt 1, Elements Pt 2) were not very strong.

I saw a new video, kind of weak as well.

PLEASE post a review of Prog Power.
I am VERY jealous you will be seeing SYMPHORCE!

I'm clueless about most of the bands, I'm going for Orphaned Land. Awesome metal, good people, and 3 nights alone in my hotel room with the Sci-fi channel. It's gonna be great. :hotjump:

I'll check out Forever Free, and some songs from Visons. Thanks!

Be sure to check out Symphorce.
Great mid-tempo metal, ala Jag Panzer, Nevermore, Fates Warning, etc.
The singer is the singer for Brainstorm.
I think Angra is playing too, but they are just to weak for my tastes.

Unfortunately, by the time you get back to your hotel room after the shows, the Sci-Fi channel will probably be running paid programming :-|

Probably. But I'm not doing a thing during the day before the show. I could just give in and get cable at home. But then I'd never leave.

be sure to watch whatever movie in their long line of "Attack of the Giant CG Creature" films is on. they're all mostly mega horrid quality in a fun way, like the SabreTooth Tiger one and the Python one.

Python was good as well as Boa, but Python vs. Boa was a little bit of a let down, especially at the end when they end up mating in those tunnels.

jodi has the innate ability to find whatever the absolute worst thing is on tv. she was totally sucked in to those sci-fi movies for a couple weeks until the Tornado! one that was really about a cult and had virtually nothing to do with a tornado. she'd watch each movie for like an hour, and then say "Man, this sucks!", but then be equally excited when the next one was on. like Pavlov's amnesiac dog.

That Tornado movie was such a piece of shit, it wasnt even entertaining in a bad way.

Haha, I guess noone really wants to talk about Stratovarius. I remember reading about their show in Spain a couple of years ago; now that was really hilarious....I hope someone goes.

Hehehe. It's all good. I found someone to buy my ticket.
