It was a joke dude. I broke the High E's on 2 of my guitars so I'm asking people if they have any to spare, even though they all live far away from me, hence the irony of the scenario, thus making it humorous... to me at least.

Where are the strings breaking? At the saddle?
Could be a burr/chip. You're not trying to be like Herman Li are you? :)

J-Dubya - rarely breaks strings anymore.......

Mine tend to snap around the picking area, not at the saddle...

Then again... its normally after a few minutes of "going nuts" so to speak, generally after asking myself how long my strings will last :p

Though my current strings DR coated 11-52 (the first time i've used some this size) are more resilliant to breaking

Call me crazy, call me insane even, but I actually want my guitar to sound like a guitar.:OMG: The only Li thing I do is that crazy Whammy Bar thing that he does where he picks up the whole guitar. That's just badass.

But yeah, I usually break strings by the bridge. I think it may be partially because I use heavy fucking picks, but that's still to be determined.

Nah, file the contact point of the bridge saddles where your string rests and rub a pencil over it. Pick gauge has little to do with breakage.
My uncle tought me that pencil trick when I was younger, and I never knew what the hell it helped with until this very moment

Thanks ABQ! :kickass: (PS. I never broke a string in my life. I kid you not.)

Steve Vai has been doing that for a LONG time! ;)

As has been stated, the pick guage has zilch to do with the breakage...
