Hey guys, just wanted to share my happiness as I recently upgraded my studio... finally.
I bought a Fast Track Ultra 8-R and an AKG Perception 200, both on second hand.
Chose the Fast track because my computer does not support Firewire, USB caused me some clicks but I solved them by disabling the wireless on my laptop.
The AKG sounds AWESOME, and I even didn't start tracking vox with it.
The only problem is when close micing a guitar speaker it distorts the signal even if I pull the -10dB switch... can someone tell me if this damages the mic?
My next investment, but only in a bit distant future will be some decent monitors, as I still only have some old Blaupunkt speakers and not so good Sony headphones, and then a fuckin' badass ENGL Powerball!
Anyways, I am tracking a band and will post my mix here when it's close to finishing for you to say how it sounds like!
