Success!

wow, then that's a cool lifestyle. a normal can will run you like two or three bucks at the liquor store here, but about five-ish at the movies or any restaurant. that's about the ratio differential here. laaaaaaaame.

Yeah, but we're paying in euros. It's expensive regardless. The prices before the euro were roughly HALF of what they are now. Inflation literally doubled when Italy joined the EU. Everyone wants to go back to the lire now, with good reason. So the beer may be 3 euros, but 3 euros is almost 5 bucks.

Clubs, however, are fucking ridiculous. I went to Alcatraz in Milan one time and they were charging 5 euros for a beer in a small cup. It's like that everywhere.

I take it this has some impact on your employment status?

The closing of Discovery's 103 mall-based and stand-alone Discovery Channel Stores will occur by the end of third quarter 2007. Approximately 1,000 full-time and part-time employees, or 25% of Discovery Communications' global workforce, will be affected.

Apologies if I am shitting on your parade

All good then. My roommate and I are going to hit the one here at Valley Fair as it is supposed to be closing soon. Now is my time to get all those DVD sets I lusted after but didn't want to pay for.

Congratz, Isabel!

Hopefully they'll let you watch mythbusters or planet earth when you're not working/being hit on by nerds :)

Christian America believes beer is the devil and shouldn't be served in places children frequent. Thats actually not a joke.

Here in Sunnyvale there is an ordinance that prohibits the sale of alcohol in establishments in strip clubs. You can drink alcohol and ogle scantily clad women at the Brass Rail, or drink water and ogle fully nude women at the considerably less skanky Kit Kat Club.
