Hey guys, I've been a member for a little while now, but this is my first post. Before asking for help, I must let you know that I do read and use the search button on forums before asking the few questions I might have. But thesubject of recording/mixing/mastering is more complex than I thought it was, and the more I read, the less I know what to do.
So basically, I recorded a small clip and now it's time to go ahead and try some eq'ing, impulses, etc. but I have read so much that now I have no clue on where to start to make this sound right. I'm not expecting a hetfield tone since I know I'm on pretty chaep gear, but I'd like it to sound a little bit better.
So my chain is a cheap bc rich metal master warlock --> Toneport GX --> Cubase SX 3 > Amplitube 2. That's about it. No impulses yet, no eq, just double tracking. Bass was made with spectrasonic trilogy and the drums are DFH.
Here's the clip

Excuse the choppy guitar playing, since I'm just learning how to play it!
Suggestions are welcome. Feel free to suggest anything software-wise (unlimited budget there ). Thanks a lot guys!
