SUICIDE SILENCE?

some deathcore is good. this band is not one of them.

anyone know some deathcore bands that do mostly low screams?

I just listened to some shit on their myspace to actually give them a fair trial and here is my honest opinion:
Some parts are pretty good, jammable and very death metal sounding, however, as a whole, I dont like how they are put together. Gay ass constant breakdowns turn me off. It seems everything revolves around the breakdown in this style of music, and I really dont care for it.

edit: and I like how everyone on the SS forums raves about how good this vocalist is. It makes me tickle inside.

Lol, I love how everyone on this forum complains about how shitty deathcore is, and then listens to the most mainstream and shitty bands of the style. That's like complaining about how black metal is shitty, when you only listen to Cradle of Filth.

What deathcore bands are worth getting into?

The Red Chord - Fused Together in Revolving Doors (while Clients is good, this album just fucking destroys)

Embrace the End - Ley Lines or Counting Hallways to the Left (Ley Lines has Cop In A Cage, which has one of the most retarded breakdowns I've ever heard in my life lol...and I mean that in a good way)

From Here On - Hope for A Bleeding Sky (featuring BTBAM's Tommy Rogers on vocals, pretty good shit if you liked his vocals on their s/t)

Glass Casket - We Are Gathered Here Today (drummer Blake Richardson from BTBAM and guitarist Dusty Waring from BTBAM are in this band)

Into the Moat - The Design (this isn't really deathcore, it's more tech metalcore, but I recommend it anyway)

Ion Dissonance - Solace (also, not completely deathcore, but it's a must-have)

Nights Like These - Sunlight at Secondhand

I dunno, since I've heard all of the bands you recommended in this post and think they were all pretty bad. You're just generalizing the dislike of the genre because it happens to be something that you like.

He has a point, though.

The Red Chord struck me as being tolerable. I saw a video by them and it was pretty meh, but not obnoxiously gay, and the video itself was relatively devoid of faggotry. Also, I'm fairly certain I saw them live (they didn't really announce themselves, whoever they were, and they were taking the spot Overkill was slated to play), and if I'm right, they were pretty good.

Really? Then it wasn't them. These guys said this was their first time in America.
God, who were they? They did a wall of death and despite the inherent stupidity of the wall of death, it was pretty badass. I wasn't in it, of course, because I'm not a fucking dumbass, but making idiots run into each other is pretty cool.

Listen, anybody who runs into a wall of gigantic sweaty dudes when there's no football is a fucking moron, end of story.

Maybe so but its fun as hell. I broke my nose in one of those and the entire crowd of people got covered in blood, now thats entertainment.

I generally hate deathcore but I find two of Suicide Silence's songs quite good and these are The Price of Beauty (which is a simple track, nevertheless I like it) and Bludgeoned To Death.

SS are great. theyre not for anybody who wants to listen to music to hear anything innovative or creative, but theyre one of the best(if not the best) "GET PUMPED THE FUCK UP" bands in deathcore. which is pretty much the point of deathcore. so in turn theyre one of the best deathcore bands out there. they put on one of the best live shows ive ever seen and have one of the most underrated vocalist in modern metal altogether, not just deathcore.

similar bands, the acacia strain, rose funeral, elysia(old)

there are certain aspects I like of this band, but they strike me as run of the mill deathcore stuff....all that crap that's trendy right now in the underground. they have that same look too
