Sum 41 ripped off Kataklysm!

Oh! I know what riff you're talking about now! I've heard that Still Waiting song before plenty! And now that I hear Kataklysm's song next to it I can see how they are similar..... Heard them both, but never picked out that they sounded the same....

haha...I was in music class in high school last year and was playing that riff and someone was like woah hes playing sum41
i thought about it for a second and was like shit haha

Didnt sum41 already say the where huge iron maiden fans or something? They where the only band to play a decent riff at that Metallica icon thing, it sounded good, but the singer sounded too teenager-ish for a metallica song.

Yeah the singer didnt fit, also if you notice at the mtv icon, they were also the only band to play a real guitar solo, note for note. Not only that the drummer played something different for the enter sandman part than what lars originally played, but we dont need to turn this into a "lars sucks at drums" thread ;)

The only aspect of Sum 41's cover that really pissed me off was that the intro to "For Whom The Bell Tolls" was played by the guitarist when most people know that Mr. Burton is responsible for those notes on "Ride..."

You're right. But we should state that the Sum 41 drummer is almost as bad. And that is HORRIBLE.:tickled:

I haven't heard any of those two songs, but I've noticed a similar similarity:
Carcass "Death certificate" (from "Heartwork")
and
Papa Roach "Last resort"

I think I said "Heeeeey, that sounds familiar" when I first heard the Papa Roach song and then dug into my old tapes as I was pretty sure I had it somewhere...
