Well yeah Obituary is supposed to be playing, same with Testament and Body Count as headliners, M.O.D. But the guy doing the fest has a bad rep. of putting people on the bill and bands aren't even confirmed and he won't update the bill.

Good news from Obituary, just for Obituary this fest should be worth going.

OBITUARY Confirm SUN N' STEEL Appearance, Plan New Album - Feb. 5, 2004

Reunited death metal legends OBITUARY have announced that they will perform at this year's Sun n' Steel festival, scheduled to take place March 6-7 at Pinellas Expo Center in Tampa, Florida. "Everybody is back together — me, John [Tardy, vocals], Trevor [Peres, guitar], Allen [West, guitar] and Frank [Watkins, bass]," drummer Donald Tardy told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "We are writing new music right now, and are talking to Roadrunner [Records] about an album deal. I couldn't be more excited about this."

Formed in 1984 as EXECUTIONER (later shortened to XECUTIONER), OBITUARY are widely considered to be one of the most influential and groundbreaking bands in the death metal genre. After releasing several successful albums in the late Eighties/early Nineties (including the classic 1989 debut "Slowly We Rot" and its equally punishing 1990 follow-up, "Cause of Death"), the band announced their breakup, with John Tardy's disinterest in touring apparently a major factor, according to the Internet heavy metal encyclopedia BNR Metal Pages. Trevor Peres has since started CATASTROPHIC, while Donald Tardy joined Andrew W.K.'s band some time ago.

At least the lineup is getting a bit better.....

Well, I shaved mine for Christams but don't you worry. Now that I'm almost physically mature it only takes about 2-3 months to see any facial hair on me, so it's nearly back. Come Sun n Steel fest I'll be supporting caveman look again. My fiance will be calling me Abraham Lincoln again or an old man. Either way she doesn't seem to like it too much plus it tickales her or something.


Friends, don't let your friends cut their hair or shave their beards.

if i recall the show starts like 12pm-12am or something on both days,
but i think i might not go either, but may go the second day cuz thats when all teh bands i wanna see are playing.

Funny one, we actually got enough wood, that is until mr polish guy passed out in a fishing chair by the fire pit, that pretty much meant "party over". I have pics to prove it.

The Dude will be there on Sunday for sure, don't know about Saturday as the lineup looks a bit weak.
