Superior Drummer

Yeap the snares are that bombass pussy dude.

But on a more serious note. It just really takes a lot tweaking to get it where you want it, but I think thats a good thing bc it helps you learn how to work with bleed and things like that.

I just recently purchased the upgrade to 2.0 (Toontrack is getting rid of the upgrades for $40 USD, couldn't pass it up) but it was a download with only a limited amount of samples, and I have to wait for the rest to come in the mail. OH THE AGONY!!

But I actually really like what I have so far. Yea, the one kick I have isn't the best, and I'm missing a few snares, but I'm beyond stoked with it so far. So far I'm only using the internal effects, which I expected to be crap, and i'm totally happy with my temporarily stripped down version. What I'm really looking forward to though is getting the rest of the ambient mic samples (I only have ambient close atm) and the fucking OZONE CRASH!! And more Chinas. And more kicks and snares.

Oh and by the way, if anyone didn't know about the 1.0 - 2.0 upgrade price drop and didnt read my entire post,

For me it was the snares; kicks are quite usable. Snares are not too good, imo.

Yeah but you like BFD too so... :heh:

Yeah it's totally you dude, the kicks DO suck. Every single Toontrack release has shitty kick sounds. But 2.0 definitely rocks as far as everything else really. I've heard far too many clips of just straight 2.0 (kick replaced 100% though) sounding epic. If I needed a sample library for constant use I would probably buy it myself.

ahh well, maybe i am just being over the top... the kicks not seen to be that great...

sometimes when you do this on your own and have no kinda response you work yourself up when your instincts are far.

If you are looking for some good SD2.0 drum sounds, get the check out The Metal Foundry SDX. I bought it not too long ago and couldn't be happier with the drums sounds. There are like a ton of different drums. It has sonar, dw, tama, pearl and more. It also features two different kick drums for the double base so you add a little variety. The presets are also MUCH, MUCH better. Here is a clip i made with the metal foundry.

The Avatar kit is a great kit, but it's not really intended for metal. You can get it there, but it needs extra work. Metal Foundry is the expansion that is made with metal sounds in mind.
