thats the kit of daniel erlandson of arch enemy for the recording of their new album titled "Microwave that curry"(working title). i don't know if any of you guys like them but they really rip and with their last album, wages of sin, now have a vocalist that fits their style much better and she(!) makes me feel much less of a man. considering how much bigger i am than her, and most if not all of you, i wish i could sound like that. i happen to like growling vocals, i don't know how you guys feel about them though.

The first time I heard them, I was outside Paladinos and had originally gone to see another friend's band play (seems I had missed them thanks to a wrong turn on the freeway). When I got inside, my head nearly exploded to find this gorgeous 5'2" latina, Loana dP Valencia, up on the stage holding the mic and tearing it up with Jim Durkin (formerly of Dark Angel) and company belting out tunes with a voice that initially reminded me of the singer for At The Gates (his name escapes me right now).

Loana's a sweet kid, but when she's onstage, stay out of her way! There's a lot of fury in her performance and I wouldn't be surprised to see her swing the mic at someone interfering with her rocking out.

whats that other crap in the mix?? they need to go back and either turn up the music or turn down the vocals. Shes decent, typical death vocalist, but angela is still the undisputed queen of metal.

If you're speaking of the weird noises that are on the Mp3, I think it's a glitch in the programming of the file. I've got the same thing.

Bill Metoyer is working on mixing the band's upcoming EP, so the sound should be corrected then.

what a singer! i listen to comalies all the time. its such an amazing album.

She was also voted the #1 most shaggable female by terrorizer magazine.

the thing i like about her most other than her obvious singing talents is the fact that she can be so sexy without having to try look like a whore to sell records unlike other dirrrty girls of the same first name.

i take it you dont like growling vocals, but thats all a matter of personal taste. but for a growler, she's better than most guys ive heard. she was actually voted #1 metal vocalist in the 2002 Terrorizer magazine readers poll. even over mikael akerfeldt of opeth who can growl and wail clean. i would have voted for akerfeldt myself due to the fact that he can sing melodically as well. and for what its worth she was voted #2 most shaggable female in metal. its an english mag

I'm not. Christina and Angela's record labels aren't paying the kind of scratch (more than likely because they can't afford it) to get their bands on the national Rock radio stations, so the bands aren't getting that much exposure.

It's all about money, in this case.

I do!!! I do!!!

What is even more sad is how often our own local forum talent gets overlooked. The more I hear Linda's drumming, the more respect I get for her talents...

Same goes for Sara, Jojo, Wanda, and Jen. I am patiently waiting for a new non-Maidens project for these gals to tear it loose on!
