As we know guys of TestAmenT participated in many tribute albums, it`obvious they deserve to be honoured same way. Who know maybe in near future there`ll be such an LP approved by the band itself...

While waiting for that moment to come, I`d like to ask you for dropping here you picks. Nevermind if it`s possible or not...

MINE IS:

Practice What You Preach by MetallicA

Why? Great riff, great vocal parts totally different melody than riff and we all know that Hetfield is the master of playing one melody and singing another one same time. Besides he`s a great singer. I think that Kirk would finally show his skills and reach high level while playing this classic Alex` lead part.
Rhythm section would keep this shit tight and Tru would put some of his bass accent on this one as well.
Besides, every cover done by MetallicA sounds like it`s their song and that`s the most important thing in doing covers.

Great song for a great and unique band - there`s nothing more to say

Souls Of Black by Infectious Grooves feat. Aladdin Sarssipius

Yeah, they`d do that in funky with Alex` lead part played on bass by youngster STeve Brunner

That's sounds like an awesome list, but Vio-lence shouldn't be in there unless they find someone that sings better than Sean Kilian. I can't image Vader doing a melodic thrash song like Over The Wall, the Peter in that band can't sound any vocal chord(Blind Guardian would be perfect for that song). Other than that, Living Sacrifice covering Demonic Refusal should be added to the list. Pantera would have been good for PC, but sadly some stupid fucker killed Dimebag and all hope for reunion is now gone.

I'm a Vader fan, but Over The Wall isn't the right Testament song for them. They may know how to play the song instrumentally, but Peter Wiwczarek wouldn't able to do any of those high-pitched screams that Chuck Billy did on that track. Peter is a grunter, he's not a singer, no offense to him.

There's already a Testament tribute album, it's called JUMP IN THE PIT with 11 tracks performed by little known bands. I don't have it myself but I've heard it's halfway decent as far as tribute albums go. Also there's one track that is mixed and mastered by James Murphy (ex Testament guitarist).
The notion that Metallica or some of the other well known bands mentioned would participate in a Testament tribute album is really just a fantasy I think.

That would be sick, since Sun O))) is fast as hell.

Honestly though, I think Testament does their stuff the best, I wouldn't really want any to hear other bands doing it because for the most part I don't think it would be pulled off good.

But when you do cover, you don't have to (and it would be better if you don't) make it as much as possible same, as the oryginal... The best made cover, is when the band keeps the atmosphere of the track, but make it with it's own style (f.e. Motorhead did Whiplash on Metallic Attack). So I think that Peter don't have to get those lines like Chuck (nobody could - Chuck is irreplaceable), but it would be great to hear his vocal this track, the way he screams. Of course not only vocal - every part would be interesting.
I think it's a nice idea.

I hear you, but I just thought it would be too easy and predictable to have them cover a newer TestAmenT song and I think Over The Wall could be transformed into an interesting death metal song (without losing its thrashiness)- it would sound very different (especially vocal-wise, of course), though.
