Tales Of Monkey Island

3d sequels of classic adventure games always fucking suck ass. That's exactly what happened with the Broken Sword series, for example.

Haven't played the Monkey Island games in ages though. I should.

I think this can turn out to be a very good game. The team working on it is very good (although no Tim Schaffer), these guys did FullThrottle, Day Of The Tentacle, Grim Fandango, Sam & Max... they know what they´re doing. I haven´t played the 3D revival of Sam & Max but I know it was a big hit.

I've played it and I can tell you that it's an awesome game. Honestly, it's not in the same league as the first 3 but it's definitely better that the forth. It consists of 5 episodes, the first two are so so...but the remaining 3 make up for it.

I agree with narcossintese that Telltale is the only company (besides lucas arts) that I would trust to do this game justice. They are ex-lucas arts employees after all. However, maybe some of them worked on FullThrottle, Day Of The Tentacle and Grim Fandango but the person who is actually responsible is Tim Schaffer. And you can tell while playing the game that a person like Tim Schaffer or Ron Gilbert (creator of monkey island), who's talent can make the difference from a great game to a "classic", was not involved.

Well they needed some time to the hang of it so don't expect to much from first 3 episodes, but last 2 are great. All in all I had a good time playing it and I can recommend it. Just don't expect mega-whooping greatness of first 3 MI's.

You should bare in mind that all Telltale games are pretty easy.
