Lets just say she did get kicked...but she asked for it. infact, if anyone else were her she would have quit before getting kicked.
Yes, she should have joined another band...this is horrible for mainstream and even worse for metal. As for a Opera song?....meh.
I heard someone at the Epica show in NYC saying they were sent an advanced copy of her CD and that it was even better than the new Nightwish. If this is the level of all the songs, than I really don't know how someone could make that statement. I was so bored listening to it. It was just a very uninspiring song with no real emotion despite what the subject matter could have been (and most likely is) pertaining to.

I find that statement laughable as well. Tarja can't write. And, this sounds like watered-down To-Mera. That person was obviously a Tarja fan.
Marco actually said that "Tarja fell for some very bad advice." The advice was going solo.

Personally, I'd say that is unfair to To-Mera.
I'm surprised I didn't head over sooner but I didn't realize OSA had moved here. I had signed up to the OSA forums like 2 years ago before going inactive fast (I'm a bit ADD with forums if I need separate accounts).

Well, everyone has different opinions. There are going to be those fans who blindly follow anything Tarja does, and those fans who blindly follow Anette just because they hate Tarja.
I am curious to hear the new Tarja music, I have to admit. I always did want to hear her more classical voice doing more operatic things, but it sounds like that's not really the direction her career is going in anymore.
It's too bad that she's let Marcelo whisper in her ear for so long, because I honestly think if he wasn't around, she would be more inclined to do more classical things, which was always her original intention.

Imo you can here there's not "Tuomas touch" on the songs even if there's her wonderful voice. Tuomas compositions have something special (well almost all..not every songs)
I also thing there will be a lot of comparison between her album and Nightwish. I hoped she would have taken a complitely different direction honestly. However it's too early , we just heard 3 songs.

Look, Tarja's popularity is skyrocketing so much that WWE World Champion Batista, who's never even HEARD of Nightwish, is already wearing the "I Walk Alone" T-shirt!!

He'd make a better manager for her than Marcelo...at least he knows how to kick ass and get the job done.
Back to topic...I heard the "I Walk Alone" song, and it's not bad. Not great, either. I definitely agree that it misses the "Nightwish magic" that we're all used to hearing accompany Tarja's voice. If you ask me, both parties have lost something without the other. Not that Anette isn't talented, but, there is something missing when I hear the new songs, something that only Tarja provided. Likewise, hearing her new stuff without Tuomas composing the music, does not make her music as special.
Maybe we can find a way to dub her vocals onto the instrumental version of DPP and feel like it's old times again?

Yeah, Tel. As much as I loved Tarja's technique....she could sometimes leave something to be desired in expressiveness.

As i watched the video for "I Walk Alone", all i kept asking myself was, "Her voice aside, she was going to eventually leave Nightwish anyway to make.. THIS?!" To say i found it bland, uninteresting, and intended for mass appeal is to put it mildly. I'm sure some would disagree, because that is what people live to do on the net (and some people would try to spin Tarja in a good light even if she started creating american country music
), but man.. at least for me, i found it completely awful. If someone were deliberately trying to ruin her career they could not do a better job.
