:mad:Crap!!!!! Tomorrow at midnight for all of you that have forgotten is the deadline to submit your tax returns. I hate having to do this every year, but luckily I have a great CPA, and she does an excellent job and saves me money every year. So get them in folks so you don't have to pay a penalty and late fees.

Yeah.. I need to get these figured out this year. First year that I don't have a W2 and am "technically" self-employed.. and I think there's something about a Schedule C :hypno: This is hopeless. Lesson learned, next year, pay someone else to do it! :loco:

And for the love of dog, people, if you file an extension, don't freak out on the employees of your local retail store when you find out all the tax software got shipped back to the manufacturer after the 15th.

Mines been in the bank, earning interest, for a while now.

Turbo Tax online will guide you thru the Schedule C with ease. :)

And again..... Turbo Tax online is your friend. :)

Got ours in last week. Will have about $2000 back in the end between the stimulus & refunds.
And as people always seem not know, you won't be getting the stimulus until May so don't freak out if you filed your 2 months ago and still haven't received it yet.

BTW, for Atlanta-area folks, Bartow, Fulton and Dekalb residents have until May 19th, I believe, to file. (Presidential disaster declaration due to the tornados.)

Actually, only some people will be getting the stimulus credit in May.

The schedule is based on the last two digits of your SSN and is posted at www.irs.gov -- the latest batch of checks will be mailed out July 11th. Why the delay? It is impossible for Treasury/FMS to print that many checks in one week's batch, hence the staggered schedule.

Anyone who requested (or requests) direct deposit into their own bank account -- as opposed to an anticipation loan or something -- will receive the refund as a direct deposit in the first half of May. Then the paper checks will start.
Oddly enough, even if you owe, go ahead and put direct-deposit info on your return, because it could expedite your stimulus payment.

There's been a lot of misinformation about the stimulus payments, even from 'serious' media outlets. :erk:

Helpfully,
Your pal "on the inside" :)
....who is also in favor of the FairTax :heh:

For those whos parents are seniors living on a fixed income or SS... let them know to file a 1040a for stimilus package checks. AARP has a hotline...
I just told my 75 yr old dad who lives on SS... he didn't think he would be a part of it.

The IRS strongly recommends that seniors file no later than April 15, 2008; however, the final deadline for filing is October 15, 2008. If you need additional help with your stimulus check, you can visit the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov or you can use the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program by calling 1-800-906-9887. The AARP has also established a toll-free hotline at 1-888-227-7669.

I finally finished mine last night bro...

My God what a pain! I had a lot o' shit goin' on this year... But a shit ton of deductions! :D :kickass:

Filed an extension since I've been out of town for the last three months. We're having somebody else do it. Yardleybates' business is more than I want to tackle with TurboTax. Hell, I screwed it up the previous year without her business. An expert got us another $1500 back from that year.
