No you select your tuning with a button. But there aren't drop tunings and you can watch only 6 strings....so if you have a 7 string guitar you have to chose the standard mode.

My bad. I read the review in guitar world and misread. It said "poly mode does not support alternate tunings", which I guess means no irregular tunings.
Well fuck me then, somebody buy one and let us know how it is.
