They seem like an ideal recording tool, as well as the start of a beastly bass rig. Does anybody have any experience with them in a recording capacity? I've been thinking about picking one up. It has a DI option for both pre and post preamp.

Here's a wee snippet of Tue Madsen (<3) talking about it

I know this thread is old as hell but has anyone tried one of these amps? I'd like to hear some metal demos. I haven't found any yet other than that Mnemonic album with Tue Madsen.

there has been an enormous amount of bashing on the Talkbass board, because both these amps have been tested and confirmed to put out ~240 watts instead of 450 / 750. Instead, there is a more or less sophisticated limiter circuit, which suggests a lot more volume to be had than there actually is.
But: most micro amps have such a built-in limiter. They all reach their limits fairly early, only driving harder into the limiter when turning up.

The TC do sound good though, and the Spectracomp is awesome as well. Similar to the Triple C and Nova Dynamics compressors.
You might want some other source of dirt, as they focus on clean(ish) sounds
