You mean, Return to Apocalyptic City? It's a live album, so if you like those, then maybe. Souls of Black is their most underrated one, I think. It's really good, but a lot of people didn't like it as much.
I remember an interview were Chuck Billy said Souls of Black was a rushed album because they (Testament) wanted to have a new album out to go on the Clash Of The Titans tour with Slayer, and I believe Megadeth and some others. I think its a solid effort. Face In the Sky, Falling Fast, The Legacy, 7 Days of May, Souls of Black, etc... I remember "in days of old" seeing the videos to Souls of Black and The Legacy on Headbangers Ball. The Good Ole Days.
Well, I'm glad to see that people here share my respect for Souls of Black. Testament are awesome; I've been listening to them since 1989. The Gathering was good, but I think their best is Practice What You Preach. I can't wait to hear their next one; has anyone heard when they are gonna start on it? I think they started writing songs but are awaiting Chuck B to get a little healthier, but I'm not sure about that.
Iheard a while back that they had some songs on the burner. Thats all ive heard. SoB is great. Ithink i like it better than PWYP. The more its in my changer, the longer i want it to stay there. Testament are a testament to heavy metal hehe.
Although often considered the 'classic' TestAmenT albums, Souls Of Black and Practice What You Preach are my least favourite.
Although I must admit that both albums have some fantastic tracks, Perilous Nation, The Ballad and Practce What You Preach / Face In The Sky, Souls Of Black and The Legacy - yet I've never been able to get intoi them.
Low is my favourite, followed by The Legacy, The Gathering, The New Order, Demonic and then The Ritual.
Keep in mind that I hold both live albums above all else, Return To Apocalyptic City and Live At The Fillmore.
That sucks. Return To Apocalyptic City is only a 6 track EP, so I sort of assumed it would be out of print.
On the other hand, I didn't expect Live At The Fillmore to be too difficult to find.
Keep looking, it's well worth it.
I think I figured out what is bothering me with the First Stike Sitll Deadly CD. It seems as if they screwed up the mix on some of the songs so that you can't hear one of the guitarists very well. It is most noticeable on Over the Wall. At first, I thought the guitars were just being played sloppy, but then I realized that I just could barely hear one of the guitars, thus some of the notes seemed missing. It's too bad, it could have been an awesome release instead of just a good one.
