While it never gets any FULL rotation on my turntable, there are a couple of tracks I really enjoy. I think the best is "SO MANY LIES".

Heh the Ritual is the only Testament cd I've ever heard start to finish... I haven't seen any other cds or even tapes around. It is an awesome cd imo... Signs of Chaos, Electric Crown, the Ritual, Deadline, Return to Serenity and Troubled Dreams are all some of my fav songs of any band.

theres a bit of the cheese here and there, but a pretty good album that I used to totally love. plus, i love skolnick (did i just spell his name wrong?)
would have been better with a decent drummer. louie sounds so boring on that album. nothing wrong with simple solid drumming in the right context, but the drums sounds so lame here...

Wise in the ways of metal
fans sometimes rag on this album (The Ritua) because it's not as thrashy as their earlier stuff and not as brutally heavy as their later stuff, but taken on it's own The Ritual as damn fine album! Testament has nothing to be ashamed of.

I find it pretty boring. And its not just because its the least metal album they have. I listen to other bands that arent very heavy and still like them, like agalloch and winds. However I think the songs are too long and the verses are too boring.

Magician of Sadness
Amazing album. Just because it isn't all about speed and thrash doesn't mean it's got to suck ass. Alex played some of his most profound solos on that record and I personally love it.
