The first CD is a compilation of songs from the last two studio albums, and the second CD is all of First Strike Still Deadly.

^ Ack! I liked Demonic! The Ritual is good for what is is too. Easily their most mainstream but it was still pretty catchy. They are an awesome band, though.

The Legacy, The New Order, and Practice What You Preach

The vocals on the latest albums are a lil rougher than these albums but they are still great and the three i mentioned are essential must haves.

I'd definately get 'The Very Best Of Testament' first which covers the first six albums. It's got a lot of the classics on there and it's a good beginners CD for Testament.

I guess you can say im a Alex Skolnick fan thats why i prefer those albums and recommend them to newbies.. i saw them live back during the Practice What You Preach tour a half dozen times during that year and they were amazing.. I saw them at Sundance in Bay Shore Long Island i think in 1990.. i still have their shirt from that tour and still wear it on occasion lol ....

 

[Lies and Perfidy]

The New Order is overrated as fuck; thankfully, the re-recordings on First Strike Still Deadly sound much better. The Legacy is excellent, straightforward thrash, and Low is a damn good album along the lines of Overkill's The Killing Kind or From the Underground And Below, with a bit of DM influence.
