Many of you I would say have not heard of Textures, but they are an extremely talented bunch of musicians.
To describe their music would be a mixture between Darkane (Rusted Angel era) with Meshuggah (Destroy Erase Improve era)
Crystal clear production, broken riffs, off time, hypnotic rythems, acidic vocals.
The music is driving and agressive. The title song "Polars" is nothing short of amazing. An 18 and a half minute thrash song that both excites and soothes.
I have two problems with the disc. There are only 6 real songs that add up to about 40 minutes total. The two other songs I cannot really describe but take up 16 minutes that I cannot really describe. The only thing appropriate is to say you don't really notice what is going on. It puts you in almost a trance like state. And the second problem are the lyrics. Make no sense to me whatsoever, but I like the varied vocal delivery.
This album is definitely worth your time.
