Blaming a band for not touring is an odd thing to do. They don't schedule their tours. They don't choose how long a tour lasts. They don't decide where they're going to play. I imagine most tours last as long as they are profitable. If you live in Bum Fuck Egypt, and they would only draw 100 people on a Tuesday, you can expect them to hit your city. Also keep in mind, that skyrocketing gas prices are having a serious impact on tours of this scale. I read that it's costing these bands between $500 - $1,000 extra, per week, to tour. For bands whose tours aren't money machines, this could be the difference between making a tour worthwhile or not.
That being said, I'm guessing Opeth will be back after they do Europe.
