That bomb that just detonated at center stage

You mean the one with Skeletor at the helm?

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it, but...Milton was wrong. I picked a good supper time for me. I still heard about half their set while in line for JOP, though.

Overkill slayed! Best I have ever heard the band, tribute to Glenn and his sound staff

...and also MASTERPLAN, who were killer. I was impressed by Rick Altzi, whose voice was great, and by his frontman qualities. Much better stage presence than Jorn IMO. I love Jorn's voice, but Altzi made the older Masterplan songs his.

except the first song "Enlighten Me"....his voice was VERY rough on that one. But he settled in after that.

Yes, but there were problems with the sound he had in his earbuds when the show started, so that could explain this. He was flawless for the rest of the set.
it was his voice...nothing to do with the earbuds...his voice was gruff, not smooth like Jorn's on the track

interesting enough the best performances were the heavy ones(overkill and master plan). JOP is out of the equation.

overkill always put a A+ show. Is it only me or anyone notice that the singer of master plan has the help of a teleprompter (for lyrics). Second time I noticed that.

Didn't notice a teleprompter at all. Where was it? Right in front of him? Altzi was surely not looking at it very often then as he was moving the stage a lot, not like someone like Halford or Ozzy, who stays at the same place 90% of the time usually.
I was 2nd row at the left of the stage and didn't see anything...

I enjoyed this set way more than I expected. Bobby was freaking hilarious.

Did they do "In Union We Stand"? I missed a couple of songs to pick up my JOP t-shirt. That was the only song of theirs that I knew from way back when. Thought they might do that one to end the show.

Only downside for me was the blinding white lights. I don't know WHY some bands think that adds to the show. Two people around me actually put on sunglasses, and I was *wishing* I'd brought mine!

No "In Union" or another song I was sort of expecting, Bastard Nation (because they're both more melody-emphasizing songs). At any rate, they kicked so much ass. I love Overkill and this was probably the best environment I'll ever get to see them play in.

And I agree, super-bright lights aimed at the audience (and strobes) are annoying.
