How about that Majesties - Vast Reaches Unclaimed album, old school melodic death metal. Saw it getting a fair bit of hype for sounding like early Gothenburg stuff, I like it.

Ive played it a few times. It hasnt stuck with me as much as the guys' main bands, especially Obsequiae, but its not offensive. I might just be tired of that sound.

Yeah, I mostly listen to Death Metal now (again), but I've been enjoying some of this year's atmospheric black metal and this Blaze of Sorrow is at the top for me. The acoustic passages are reminiscent of Empyrium.
