The Amen Corner

In class today I came across "The Amen Corner". Not the Opeth song, but rather a play by famous African American playwright/novelist James Baldwin....did Opeth use this as their inspiration? Anyone know? Please, discuss....

almost certainly NO. the songs are named after bands, and the amen corner you guessed it is a band, thats also probably why theres cover versions on the re-release to continue the theme. anyway i saw the cover in the HMV pop section and laughed my balls of, they're some 6o's cheesey band i suppose, not heard the music but yeah they looked funny. i'll try and get a pic.

Wow....hmmmm.....this must be coincidence, because you know how the story of the album is about a ghost and the one's who loved it? Well the first line that Baldwin wrote in his play (and ended up as the first line in the third act) was 'It's an awful thing to think about, the way love never dies!'...interesting, no?
