The Annihilator paradox

If there was ever a great example of third-tier thrash metal, Annihilator is it. The real paradox is how they became popular in the first place and still eat up marketing dollars from labels, mediocre release after mediocre release.

I've only heard a few of their albums and think they're a pretty decent band.I need a break from too much seriousness from time to time and Annihilator is a breath of fresh air. There's nothing wrong with having a sense of humor.Especially when it's twisted.I'm looking forward to hearing more of their stuff:cool:

Forbidden was quite... unforbidden? 'Forbidden Evil' and 'Twisted Into Form' were actually big favourites among many black metal heads here in Norway, believe it or not. Of course, most preferred Destruction and Sodom, but still, not many US thrash bands were given as much love as Forbidden.
Thats interesting, Forbidden kick arse but they also have their share of silly lyrics. To me they are on equal levels of great shredding and great cheesiness.

Thrash on \m/

I'm a huge Annihilator fan but I admit they have not released a consistently good album since 'Never, Neverland'.

Each album since then has some killer tracks but also some god awful tracks.

They are a great live band though.

I try so hard to like this band. I don't know why I try and defend them sometimes, but deep down I know they really aren't that great... even very good lately. I like about a dozen songs, and those songs I can listen to for a fair part of the day. Alice in Hell kicks ass... and so does the band name.
