Hello, i would like to sbmitting this new Progressive / Death Metal Band, "The Archetype".
"The Fallen Grace" (2010), is the first studio album of the band and is produced by Fuel Records / Lost Sound, the label that produced in the years: Kiko Loureiro, Infernal Poetry, Dark Lunacy, Death SS...

The music finds inspiration in
bands like Opeth, Nevermore, Katatonia,
but it's also influenced by new sounds came out in
the metal scene in the last years. The sound is
defined by aggressive and at the same time
melodic songs, with a particular attention given to
their structure, winded guitar's melodies, the use
of the voice in a perfect mix of growl and clean
lines and to the complex arrangements of
compositions, focused in particular on vocals lines
and guitars.
We can define this style as a sort of progressive
metal, also influenced by thrash and death metal,
however maintaining a personal and peculiar style
and so trying to avoid falling in any kind of genre
cliches.... but in few words, it's quite hard to find
an exact definition for The Archetype's music!

If you want to express your opinion about it, please write here!
Thanks

Not bad, but not that good either.

The thing is, the melodeath scene is saturated, and unless you're really good, you won't stand out. Being average just doesn't cut it, and "The Archetype" is an average band at best.

From the new melodeath bands, only Gwynbleidd (they play Opeth's style better than Opeth themselves) and Barren Earth caught my attention.
