In the song Black Rose Immortal does anyone have any clue what the "awakenth symbol" is that is spoken about? And why has the person kept it and what exactly is the golden shrine? Help is appreciated, thanks.

It's actually an Amaranth symbol i think.

Amaranth noun a plant of a chiefly tropical family that includes love-lies-bleeding.
Family Amaranthaceae: several genera, especially Amaranthus.
I got that from Britannica 2001 BTW. I'm not sure what the connection is with the song.

It's actually amaranth... I'm pretty sure Mike said it somewhere, but I'm tired, I may be thinking incorrectly. But it DEFINITELY sounds like amaranth, so I go with that.

An amaranth is a purple flower, and also a legendary flower which never wilts. What the lyrics say is that the narrator has kept this symbol, the undying flower, as a means of when they will be together (again). When they both walk the shadows, it will set ablaze, and vanish. But... it NEVER sets ablaze and vanishes. So they will never be together (again).

At least that's my view. Black Rose Immortal has... awesome lyrics.

Well, right in the lyrics sheet that comes with the album it says, "awakenth symbol" so are you guys saying that the lyrics sheet is wrong? I'm not being a smartass and saying you're wrong, because I know many other cases where lyrics books are screwed up, I was just clarifying.
