Hi guys,
I have bought a bass and want to find the best to record it.
I have three different ways or bass record:

1. Using POD HD emulation of Ampeg head and 1x15".
2. DI tracking and mixing with such plugins as Ampeg SVX.
3. Carl Martin Compressor in front of audio card and then using plugins.

Can you recommend the best way in my situations? Which one will be the best for metal? pop rock?

With respect,
Talmaci.

Track DI then process it as you want to. Personally i don't use any bass amp plugins as ampeg svx but it is a valid way to do it thought.

Using Compressor Pedal in front is a bad idea?
Thank you, Спасибо большое!)))

1. Bad idea (I have a POD HD and I hate that amp and cab)
2. Good idea, although you don't need Ampeg SVX necessarily. The TSE B.O.D. plugin and a track of the Nick Crow 5150 with a Mesa Rectifier impulse should be fine when combined.
3. Eh, no need to track with compression in my opinion. Just manually modify the volume of the waveforms in moderate-sized chunks and use Waves Bass Rider if you really need to.

Record 2 channels at the same time
1)DI-Keep the low frequencies
2)With your pod-use it for the high freq.'s
