what does this mean? is this normal or some kind of "instead of us firing you you may resign" deal? she's only been here, like, one year!

Geri L****s has resigned her position as AUL for Collection Services in order to retire. Effective immediately, Chris C****y will be acting AUL and Head of Collection Development. In her interim role, Chris will have full authority to manage the work of Collection Services departments, and to work with those departments and individuals engaged in implementation of the Electronic Resources Management Report. We will form a search committee shortly to identify candidates for the AUL position.


My best wishes go to Geri and my gratitude for her contributions to the Libraries during her time here.
