Before I post this review, I will say that I am not blaming In Flames for Killswitch Engange headlining in Chicago. It was wrong, it pissed me off and hundreds of over fans in the Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL, but I am not blaming In Flames. In Flames is sitll a great band that makes good music, but what happened last night was just horrible.

I arrived at the Vic Theatre...and " what the fuck..In Flames are already playing??!!" When I walked in, I heard Pinball Map playing thinking " wow they started pretty early for the headlining band"... I was wrong. After In Flames played a decent set that was fairly enjoyable....we recieved the news...me and my friends Dean, Jon, and Rachel were hit with:

" Killswitch Engange is headlining tonight"

WHAT THE FUCK??? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT??? WHAT A FUCKING DISGRACE!!!

That is all that was in my mind for about 10 minutes. I chilled out after a while, but I still wasn't happy. How could Killswitch Engange, a band that emerged out of the last few years, be headlning over the melodic death metal gods that are In Flames? What are these people thinking?

I know In Flames opened for Mudvayne last year in the U.S, but still...come on. I don't dislike Reroute to Remain or Soundtrack to Your Escape...I'm still cool with In Flames...but when Killswitch Engange began, it was as if a war begun. People like me stuck around shouting IN FLAMES!!!!!!!!! YOU FUCKING SUCK! This was about 75% of the audience.....the other half.....13 year old Killswitch Fans moshing with spiked hair. I was high, but I was fucking pissed. I spent the entire rest of the night ripping on Killswtich Fans, laughing at people throwing things at them, and laughing even harder at people spitting at them.

Killswitch knew what was going on......and just had to kinda stand there, making horrible jokes that only the minority were laughing at.

I really don't care about culture for music...but it was still a disgrace....even 4 years ago you wouldn't seen a bunch of 12 year olds who have never heard of In Flames in a Rob Zombie shirt when In Flames is playing. My lord, I'm still pissed off.

Thanks. I'm gonna expect the worst in 1 weeks.

Spitting on fans, and yelling stuff at a band on stage is pathetic. You should have known In Flames and Killswitch were trading off every night. They said it everywhere. So I will booooo! you mister. Grow up.

Killswitch Engage and Rob Zombie are both better than most In Flames, so I don't see your point.

I was at the show too. If you hadnt noticed atleast 1/4 of the crowd left after In Flames as well. IF you're going to throw a hissy fit like the 13 year old kids that were there, go ahead. But who the fuck are you to bitch when you state that your actions were childlike?

I definitly think In Flames should be the headliner but Killswitch right now are by FAR more popular here. In Flames didnt sound as good as Killswitch as well. However I do like their music and I had a pretty good time.

When i saw IF @ Arenan in Stockholm 2002 the sound was fuckin' amazing, it was close to record-sound, no bullshit!
Thats why i got verry disappointed this year. I mean, it was the same place as 2002(arenan) so I was expecting good sound. But it really sucked compared to 2002. :(
It was like the bass swallowed the guitar-sound or something.

Doesnt mean shit. On my ticket it says In Flames then Killswitch Engage below it.
The headlining band usually have the band's name printed in large letters on the tix. I can't say for all cases, but all the ones I encountered, that seems to be the case.

You're so right. 13 years old kids don't have the right to listen to In Flames, it is a shame. An spitting on those kids is the next funniest thing on Earth after pissing on them. Yeah.
