Went and saw The Cure last night, had pretty damn good seats.
What an awesome show. What band out there has no support act and then plays for 3 1/2 hrs and the ticket is only $100.
Played just about every one of their songs that weren't absolute crap.

Shirts were a reasonable price my one gripe though was they had actual tour shirts for guys and kids (yes kids) but not for the gals.

All in all a fantastic show.

Wish i took the risk and took my camera could have gotten in booze as well as they didn't check bags.

I didn't even know they were out here. I would have liked that. Probably wouldn't have gone, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it if I a) knew about it and b) could have afforded it.

Still, there aren't many bands who play for that long. Didn't Prince use to do so?

I'm not sure that I could be fucked watching a band for that long though, no matter how much I liked them!

It is a long time to be watching a band standing up, although not having to wait through support acts would make it easier. Seating would be ok, provided it were a smallish venue and they had an intermission so I could go wee-wees.

I would have loved to have seen them if I was down south. I would love to see a Depeche Mode or The Sisters Of Mercy tour. I doubt it though, particulary the Sisters tour.

Beg your pardon, DM tour, Sisters tour, please explain...

The Adelaide leg was also a good show but I dont think they played for 3 hours, there was two 5 minute intervals and they started 15minutes late. It didnt all add up to 3hrs. Im not complaining, I didnt want it to go any longer as I was feeling pretty crap after H&H the night before. I also sat the show out, the light show was awesome. Also great how they played a few old songs in the second half. Featuring heaps from Disintegration in the first half was super sweet.

The shirts were $45, same as H&H shirts, I bought one from each show but I thought tour shirts where supposed to be cheaper than that:erk:

Dream Theater - Current Tour - US $29.50 - US $45.00

So your saying ... Tix will cost 45.00 USD

=

53.6131 AUD

United States Dollars Australia Dollars 1 USD = 1.19140 AUD 1 AUD = 0.839348 USD

Bullshit... if they tour they will be $135.00 to $170 :erk: I'm guessing

They couldn't justify charging that much for tickets to DT shows here. Promoters know that they have a following, but not a big enough one to expect people will pay 100+ for tickets.

I mean, I'd happily pay $150 to see DT here, but whoever promotes them out here will be deluding himself if he thinks that charging that much will make a successful tour.

I'd imagine tickets would be from $70-90 at a guess. Any more and the people who might come on the off chance to check them out and the huge target audience of musicians (drummers to see portnoy, guitarists to see Petrucci etc) which is what the label is trying to push at at the moment won't bother with it.

I skipped G3 because of the price - didn't think seeing 2/5 of Dream Theater (wasn't that interested in Vai - who I saw in 97 - and Satch) was worth the money.
