The day your life changed forever

I just don't buy it. 'spirits' ? come on.

I've seen some pretty crazy shit and have had numerous experiences that cannot be logically explained. A lot of experiences occurred as a child and also as an adult, including recently (since I'm a member of a paranormal research team). There is such a thing as wishful thinking ("Ohhh orbs!") and I look for explanations before conclusions are jumped to. Most evidence can be scientifically explained whereas some of the evidence cannot.

It must!

I don't know what it is, to be honest. That's the thing.....we can only base shit off of beliefs and not facts because well, we don't have all the facts.
I totally believe there's a scientific explanation for everything ever happening. Still I'm superstitious, seriously. I know it's bullshit, but I cannot not believe that some things seem like they're meant to be.. It's just too nice

No, the reasonable thing to do is to just acknowledge that we don't know what it is (yet), and not give any credence to unfounded belief. That's how fucking religions are started.

I wish more Americans shared your skepticism of things they don't understand, rather than either blindly believing in something with all their being or calling people liars and communists and refusing to believe in anything they don't fully understand.

A healthy skepticism is prudent for both sides.

It's worth remember none of can really know anything. Including that fact.

Everything could be undermined starting tomorrow, and you have no way of knowing if it could happen. The only answer is to remain pragmatic (not nihilistic) and just keep on going. Point is, there really is no point thinking your ever secure because there is no such base to build your edifice of knowledge on.

An example and interesting mental exercise: Think of something that for your entire life has been constant - i.e. the sky is blue. Now can you be 100% certain it will be blue tomorrow? I think not. All of experience, history and current science indicates it will, but who's to say the rules won't suddenly change tomorrow? Nobody. No matter what they say.

Anyway. It's all absurd, but we can still do a fair amount in the framework we do have. Namely, (in my opinion, which is never so humble), try to be as zen as possible, see the good in everything and try to do anything possible to make this "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short" existence as free from such things as possible for not only you but every other beating heart on this planet who is capable of empathy.

If you consider that to be akin to something a hippy would say then you simply have no imagination. "Hippy" is an outmoded term and means, to me, precisely dick.

All you need is love.

I guess mine would have to be the whole month of February of 2007 when I first moved to Australia.
It was when I became aware of how much racism there is and the first time I've been discriminated against for not being "white".
