The Dillinger Escape Plan

Calculating Infinity is horribly boring. Irony is a Dead Scene rules.

The music on Irony is a Dead scene is like a more accessible, saccharine version of Calculating Infinity, plus it has Mike Patton making weird noises. Wow, what an achievement.

These guys suck
The lead singer is pretty cool in my book though. TRUE STORY:
They played one of those radio-station potpourri festivals a couple of years ago and the lead singer took a dump right on stage. Right after he took the dump on stage he screamed "this dump is dedicated to the OFFSPRING's set!"
...he is a legend in my book

Irony is a Dead Scene is pretty awesome and doesn't really strike me as being more accessible than CI (though it is less brilliant, partly because the atmosphere and cohesion of that album are lacking and partly just because its shorter) tbh I think they rounded some of rough edges off their sound on Miss Machine and that is when they really lost their bite. It'll be interesting to see what they do next but I'm anticipating more hooks and simplicity in a bid to be this decade's Faith No More (though sadly in sound rather than vision).

That is fucking awesome.

I agree with the "Calculating Infinity rules; Miss Machine is okay" contingent.

i think meshuggah make the same sound, and i guess they are excellent musicians, but dillinger have more melody in their composition

I hate heavy music influenced by jazz. All the bands sound like two trains hitting each other.
