This songs amazing...I would have to say if anything this song got me into Opeth in the first place...and I dunno, its very well written, almost seems like it would be the type of song that would need keyboard to sound like it does, yet it doesnt...

This song is godly. I was randomly browsing google video when I ran across the lamentations version...been downhill since. The main riff...the very vocal baseline, the drumming = perfect.

This song includes the "mystical" hypnotic trance inducing sounds of a magical instrument only Opeth knows about. No, actually they use an E-bow, and a 'wierd' chord at the beginning of the song. Now go and pray to Opeth.

the intro lead was played with an E-Bow and maybe a touch of delay, the verse lead guitar sounds a lot like a rotary sim with delay.

The thing is, for me .. The Drapery Falls is the songs that really display how amazing Steven Wilson is at producing. The song has, as many have already said, this amazing hypnotic quality and the rhythm tones are absolutely spot on (throughout BWP, but TDF is the song where it is most apparent for me). You must appreciate Mikael for writing such a brilliant track, but you must also acknowledge Steven for really making it shine out.
