The Exorcism Emily Rose...

Loved it. Excellent acting. The chick who played Emily Rose was awesome. A very cool, unique blend of horror and court room drama.

Agreed. Much, much better than I was expecting. It also goes to show you that you don't need gore and cheesy acting to make an effective horror film.

I absolutely loved the part where Emily's friend wakes up to find her missing from the bed, only to look down on the floor and see her contorted body staring straight at him. What a chilling and well crafted scene.

Good scene. Though by favorite was the exorcism itself. The portion that takes part in the barn was superb.

Definitely. Watching her run into that barn was creepy too. "What is she going to do?" Had me on the edge of my seat for sure. Also, the scene where the priest sees the demon nod at him, now THAT is what I call atmoshpere.

I also really enjoyed the scene where she sees "Mary" and makes the choice to continue to suffer, it makes you care for Emily even more seeing her in such a courageous light.

I liked it a lot. Nice unique approach to all the "possessed" horror movies. The exorcism scene itself was done well.

What was up with her face? Do you think she was acting out those expressions, or did they have CGI enhance all those looks on her face? Just eeeirwrds and creepy.

By the way, just out of interest, you should one day watch Audrey Rose (an old Anthony Hopkins flick about his daughter dying in a car accident and then being reincarnated into some other girl). Not essential viewing by any means, but supposedly another "based on a true story" type flick.

Agreed. But you should probably kill this post, as to not spoil the movie for folks.

I'm not really worried about it since it's been out for so long now. There are TONS of movie posts that have contained spoilers circulating around these parts and other boards. If it was still in theaters or just came out on DVD last week or something, I'd be more careful in discussing the film.

By the way, Zod, this film reminded me of the "I am the Black Wizards" grammar discussion. I think there is a scene (in the barn) where she screams "I am the six demons" or something to that effect.

Or rather, she's the single embodiement of Judas Iscariot, Cain, Nero, Belial, etc etc.

Well, far be it from me to correct Lucifer's grammar.:loco:

Ahhh... so it's actually not a gramatical error?

I watched this film a while back. Very enjoyable. What wasn't so much fun was having Julie sleep with the lights on for the next three nights.. :(. But then she had to do the same when we watched the "Bloody Mary" episode of Supernatural too, so that's no gague of scariness at all, hehe

Really? I didn't get that at all.

Yeah. I saw it a while back, but I seem to recall they actually used the line "She wanted me to tell her story, so other people would believe". And the "based on true events" tag, only helps to accentuate that message. It is only a minor criticism tho, it was a nice fusion and very nicely done - that kind of stuff just niggles me.
