I like most of what all you put but there were a few horrible movies mentioned. so i'll only mention a few unmentioned movies. mulholland drive, naked lunch, amadeus, scanner darkly and i'm sure there are a bunch of others i can't think of at the moment. i'm surprised no one mentioned the alien or terminator movies those are def top notch. some phycologicaly fucked up anime is berserk, evangelion, rahxephon, texhnolyze and samurai x ova are also very good. someone asked if the usual suspect is any good and the answer is most definitely.

btw, something inside of me tells me that BBC shows some of the best movies and series (for example 'cambridge spies' hehe)
is it true?

(btw, I recommend anyone with love for leftism the miniserie cambridge Spies! It works inspiring it's about four cambridge-men who are picked up by Moskau for doing spy work for Russia. Those people really existed and most of the things that are shown did really happen. It plays around the second world war.
Btw, nice anekdote: Anyone of you fameliar with the 'manhattan-project'? It's about the production of the first nuclear weapons by the US. One of the spies was responsible for giving the info to Russia, so they could also produce nuclear weapons. (which reduced the threat of the US))

this movie saved me from another fucked-up time in my life and kicked me in my ass! damn! this movie screams at you like:
"do something you depressive piece of shit! just DO something instead of slowly rotting away!!!!!" and it helped i felt so good after watching that movie... it really changed my way of living and i still feel the urge for something new... when i think of this movie, i want to gain new experiences immediately ^^

oh and the best actors ever are Sean Connery and Christopher Walken just because they have style, which others don't have ^^

and the best anime ever is called "Die letzten Glühwürmchen" in german (that would be "The last glowworms" in english if i'm right, but i'm not ) this anime is so sad... no movie ever made me that sad again...
