Haven't been following the shitfest myself, but I heard some of the names, and that Yvonne Strahovsky's were confirmed fakes (it was too good to be true, guys). I'm not all that nuts about Jennifer Lawrence. She's beautiful, but so are a lot of other people.
I agree that by striving to be famous, you waive the right to privacy, and you're a serious moron if, as a famous person, you take nude pics and share them with anyone or upload them to a cloud. That said, while it's stupid of them, that doesn't mean it's okay to abuse that stupidity. It's still a criminal act and if the hacker gets thrown in jail, I won't shed a tear.
Also, I got curious and taken a look at some of them, and I have no idea who this Victoria Justice chick is, but she's gorgeous. She's like a cross between Nina Dobrev and Vanessa Hudgens, both already stunning in their own right.

I can definitely understand why it has been overblown. Besides the fact it is the largest single leak ever and has a lot of names people want to see(the biggest factor), some of it is more extreme and revealing than you usually see in celebrity leaks which are often just a nip slip or a single photo that isn't that great. I mean some of it is in porn star territory and quite graphic.
So considering that and the fact Jennifer Lawrence is beautiful and has the whole oscar class thing going I am not surprised by the attention.

Thing is, there are McKayla Maroney pictures in the mix, and she only just turned 18. So if they were taken when she was under age, now you got child porn charges.
The guy who did it is on the run. All I can say is he better. The guy who hacked Scarlett Johansson's phone got 6 years in jail. What do you think they are going to do to this guy?

You don't want to lose your pictures though, if I were you I'd make sure they were backed up on iCloud.
