I think we would see a NightWish reunion with Tarja before we see VP headline.
No disrespect to Harvester but VP and NeverAgain are poison to the schedule IMO.
WOW, this is really cool!! I tend to agree with the person that made the assumption that it would have to be a band that has a special bond with Glenn and PP. They are requesting the 2 hour slot, not Glenn asking. THis is Glenn's baby so that to me tells me it is someone who has a very close relationship with Glenn and the fest. 3 bands come to mind. Pagan's Mind, Evergrey and Symphony X. Now all three could play every year and I would be there front and center and never get tired of seeing any of them.
So with all this i have come up with a couple of ideas but knowing me i am way off but with the limited information i have i think one of these scenarios could happen.
1. I see Symphony X being the headliner. They have not been to a PP in such a long time. They could play an entire album from start to finish in an hour and then play random songs for another hour. My guess it would be The Divine Wings of Tragedy followed by an hour set. This is one special show that Glenn referred to. I also think Masterplan will finally grace the PP stage as well. I think the 2nd special show would be allen/lande. that would rule, enough said.
2. If 1 does not happen, i see Pagan's Mind being the return band(which would be awesome) as Jorn Viggo is my favorite guitarist. If this is the case I see Jorn and crew doing some sort of Dio Tribute for the crowd. This also would be an excellent show.
Just my thoughts and I am sure I am nowhere close to actuality but this is what came to my mind when I saw Glenn's post.
Can't wait to find out who will actually play soon.

You're forgetting one. Savatage/JOP. If the headline of the festival is the return band my money is on them.
I love Pagan's Mind. In fact, they're my favorite of those three, but considering they just played last year and they've been here several times, I highly doubt it's them. Also, as much as I love them, I still don't know if they're headline material. Possible 5th slot but nothing above that.

I don't know, I kind of felt that way when I first heard it too. After a while though, I gave both of the albums a longer listen and with some breathing room they really grew on me. There are a few lackluster songs, but overall it is some great melodic hard rock/metal with two of the best voices out there. Lyrics you say? If I couldn't get past that or at least find something endearing in what are otherwise pretty bad lyrics, I could not be a fan of progressive or power metal.

technically, Savatage has not played the festival
You're also assuming that the headliner is the return band.
I honestly think the headliner will not be a returning band. Just my two cents.
