Actually I would be more surprised if it did much worse. Charting is much easier for a band to do these days now that no one buys music anymore. A small loyal fanbase is all you need and Maiden has a pretty large one. Couple this with a tour announcement before the release to raise curiosity and all the wheels are in motion.

THe new Avenged Sevenfold is their best IMO

Not bad. My favourite track is the first one and it goes downhill from there, but it's much better than I expected. I shall hang around for their set at Soundwave.
