How do you transcribe all that stuff? All by ear?
If so, it's nothing short of amazing I'd say!

Yup. I have a program on my computer called "amazing slow downer" which..well...slows songs down :) but it also retains the pitch and has a graphic eq so you can bring the guitars out more. Just sit there with my guitar and listen hard hehe. Actually Inferno was sorta easy since the fast stuff he does is all typical patterns for him.

King of Terrors on the other hand was much harder to figure out since its not any sort of "stock" pattern (other than it being whole tone "two fingers on the left one on the right" tapping). I can honestly say its one of the most whacked, atonal solos hes ever done, since its whole tone scales but switching back and forth between the two so its not even within one whole tone scale, its pretty much purely symetrical shapes with no reason to them as far as I can tell, though Im sure if I get to meet him after a show I will ask him what he was thinking (or inhaling ;)) when he came up with that solo.

I LOVE The Amazing Slower-Downer! That is one of my most favorite apps on my Mac!

If you want to have A LOT of fun, set it to increase the pitch. Then use it to play one of Russ's more agreesive songs like KoT. It is so UNBELIEVABLY FUNNY!

EDIT: Fixed my horrendous grammar and spelling.
