WRONG.
The guy that killed the guy was a refernece to that band where the one member killed the other guy for saying that he was more evil, and wore his skull. I can't remember what band that was. This is relevent to idea that metal is not real. Whether metal in general is "real" or "fake," there are certainly some people who will go to any lengths to "prove" that their metal is real, such as killing people.
The Charlie Manson reference was intended to have people remember that metal is the genre that embraces Charlie. Some would say that it is an aspect of metal's fakeness, but I personally think Charlie was "real" and that his being embraced shows a little bit of "realness" in metal. And I was simply being honest, I love Charlie and will for life.
