Decent food, cheap labor?

You got the first part right. In the south, the food is fantastic, but to have cheap labor you have to have people who work, . Everything in the south is done with the ass when it comes to organization. It's beautiful in many places, though.

Rome and above is pretty much like average European culture. Come here and you'll see why the north wants to separate from the south...but in all actuality they need each other.
